Diversified experience of advising on complex tax matters under Federal and Provincial Sales Tax, Customs & Federal Excise, & Income Tax laws.
Also involved in advisory services on Customs matters having practical exposure in Free/Preferential Trade Agreements with specified countries, DTRE, warehousing, duty drawback schemes, concessionary duty & tax regimes, etc.
Expertise in supervising tax audits/diagnostic reviews of the records for various clients including E&P and oil marketing companies, IPPs, terminal operators, shipping agents, airlines, telecommunication, insurance, banks, NBFCs, etc.
Having frequent interaction with tax authorities at Large Taxpayers’ Unit and Regional Tax Offices with relation to compliance matters, discussions on prevailed industry practices, etc.
Representing clients before the adjudication and litigation forums upto Honourable Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, SRB Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal of Customs.
Conducted several tax due diligence assignments in the event of mergers and acquisitions of renowned companies including Pakistan State Oil Company Limited, British Petroleum,, Pakistan Steel Mills Ltd., Paktel Pakistan, etc.

Mr. M. Asif is a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP). He has more than 30 years of diversified industry experience with strong background in strategic planning, financial & business management, contract negotiations, budget preparation & controlling, group tax planning & compliances, corporate risk identification & management, audits & investigations, policies & process development and corporate structuring & legal compliance.
During his stay with renowned listed companies, he was the member of the board / executive management committee and headed different functions, which include finance & accounts, internal audit, shariah compliance, corporate & legal affairs, IT, Admin & HR, procurement, planning, production, engineering, quality, regulatory & RnD.
